What's been your experience with speed dating?
I'm asking because during the last year or so it's been something I've attempted quite a few times as I felt that maybe it would be a great way for me to meet someone. Without going in too many details here (I just want to keep it brief) speed dating for me kinda just turns my social anxiety off because of the very direct "me and her are MEANT to talk now" and I find myself able to be myself, talk openly and I feel I more often than not have a good five or so minutes with the women with laughs and all.
But out of my six or so times going to speed dating, each time there being 15-25 women and me circling quite a few of them, I've only ever managed to get one match. Which lead to a date, where me and her quickly realized we weren't a good fit. But then the organizer will very prominently explain how 70-80% of participants get at least one match. So one match out of six times is horrific.
And I'm just curious, how has speed dating been for you all? Is it maybe different depending on the age bracket? I'm 26, maybe speed dating works better for older people. How has it been in your experience?
