Refusing to let me in

Refusing to let me into jointly owned home

I’m in England. My ex-partner and I jointly own our family home 50/50.

Last year I was arrested following allegations made during our separation and was subject to bail conditions preventing me from entering the property. The criminal proceedings have now concluded. I was told by the court that the case was finished, and I have subsequently been told that the bail restrictions no longer apply.

However, my ex-partner is still refusing to let me return to or access the jointly owned property. She continues to live there with the children, while I am living elsewhere and the mortgage/property remains jointly owned.

I have asked whether there is any current court order or other legal restriction preventing me from entering, but I have not been given details of one.

I do not want to force entry or create a confrontation, especially because children are involved.

What is the correct legal route for a joint owner in this situation? How can I establish whether I currently have a legal right to enter and, if access continues to be refused, what should my next step be?
