New Avatar series; isn't Pavi supposed to be a boy in the Avatar cycle?

Hi all, this is in regards to the Avatar Cycle trivia from like idk a decade ago, so maybe they've changed it up a bit, but in regards to the new series coming out, isnt the pattern supposed to be like Boy-Boy-Girl-Boy-Girl?

There was (G)Yangchen, (B)Ryuk, (G)Kyoshi, (B)Roku, (B)Aang, (G)Korra

If thats the case, Korra came after Aang, which would mean that there's probably supposed to be a male Avatar after Korra right?

The only reason I ask is if it has something to do with a major twist in the shows plot that we should expect, or if somehow the Avatar that came after Korra somehow died between Korra's time and the time of the Seven Havens?
