33M | WFH & Long Distance past—feeling isolated and trying to get back into local dating. Advice?
Hey everyone,
I’m 33 and have recently realized how much of an introvert I’ve become, mostly driven by my environment. I work remotely from home, and for a long time, my partner lived in a different country. Between long-distance dynamics and working solo every day, my social circle has shrunk to almost zero.
The loneliness has really started to hit hard lately, and I’ve come to the point where I need to rebuild a real, local social and dating life.
The challenge is that staying home so much has made taking that first step feel pretty overwhelming. Jumping back into dating when you feel out of practice socially is tough.
For anyone who has been in a similar spot—working from home, recovering from isolation, or navigating dating in your 30s as a default introvert:
How did you ease yourself back into meeting people locally without burning out?
Did you jump straight to dating apps, or start with local meetup groups/hobbies first to rebuild social confidence?
Any general advice for breaking the loop of WFH isolation?
Appreciate any thoughts or shared experiences.
