WIBTA if I told my partner their sister has to follow our no shoes indoors rule even though she says it feels rude

my partner has been staying with us a few weeks now and their sister sarah is planning to visit next month. the thing is we have a strict shoes off rule at the front door because the carpet is light colored and we already had to replace a rug once. i figured i would just remind sarah about it politely when she gets here but my partner thinks she will feel singled out since her place has a more casual vibe. they said it might come across as controlling if i bring it up right away instead of waiting to see if she notices the shoe rack herself. i get that she might feel awkward at first but i also do not want to deal with dirty footprints tracked through the whole apartment again. so im wondering if i would be wrong for planning to mention it at the door instead of staying silent.
