Compiling what actually helps after a failed CBSE attempt, since most threads here just say "study harder"

Been talking to a bunch of people in this exact spot lately and honestly the advice out there is kind of thin. Study harder or just grind Uworld again isnt wrong exactly, it's just not specific enough to actually help anyone who's already tried that once and landed in the same place.

So here's what i've actually noticed holds up, not the obvious stuff.

Timing between attempts matters way more than people give it credit for. I've seen people rush back in within a few weeks because the anxiety of waiting felt worse than the anxiety of retaking, and they end up with almost the same score, just angrier and more broke.

Test anxiety and an actual content gap look identical from the outside but need completely different fixes, and most people never sit down and honestly figure out which one they're dealing with before jumping back into study mode.

A near miss and a wide miss are not the same problem wearing different numbers. A few points off usually means something small and fixable is in the way. A big gap usually means going back to basics, which nobody wants to hear after they've already spent a year on this.

Curious what actually flipped it for people who turned a fail into a pass. Not the study schedule, the actual thing that changed. Sometimes it's small, sometimes it's a whole mindset shift.

Asking because a lot of people reading this are probably staring down another attempt right now and could use something more useful than "study harder" one more time. What was it for you?
