I'm worried about my ex after breaking up.

Me and my ex broke up after five years as he was moving to another country for work. Even though he was leaving in maybe a year I said we are going to break up now.

He really didn't want it to end but he was leaving the country permanently by choice for financial reasons. So I told him, if you're going to choose money over me, you're going to have to lay in the bed you made and said I'm not going to be a placeholder that will entertain you for a year so you'll be less lonely.

It's been two months since we broke up and the thing is, I know he's lonely. He is a foreigner in my country without many friends (and the only friends he had were lowkey assholes) and obviously he didn't have any family here. I was basically acting like his family.

I, surprisngly, moved on very quickly after we broke up, and after like three weeks he barely was in my mind. I have family, pets, friends and a comfortable lifestyle which helped me get over the relationship pretty quickly.

However, today, I all of a sudden started to worry about him. He's not mentally unstable or anything(not that I know of) but I did care about him for the past five years and to all of a sudden think that he's all alone with shitty friends and no family just made me worry.

I know he really isn't my responsibility anymore especially when in some ways I do resent him for not considering me in his plans after half a decade of dating. So I guess the advice I need is whether I'm overstepping to ask him how he's doing.

I, in no way shape or form, want to get back together, even if he changes his mind to stay in my country and I'm worried me asking him would give him some kind of hope. Also, I've started dating again (I know it's so soon but that's a long story) and I don't want to disrespect him as well. What should I do? Should I just not worry about him?
