How to avoid hdd/SSD corruption while building/swapping parts?

Beginner here:

Im wondering if theres any risk of corrupting my hdd and/or ssd while changing out other parts, and what I can do to help prevent it.

Yes, I plan to back up my data before hand.

The pc will be turned off and unplugged (power button held down for 10 seconds too).
