Bought my TV in 2019, now debating whether to upgrade before GTA 6 or wait it out

So back in 2019 I bought a decent LG TV, at the time it felt like a great set. Since then I’ve gotten way more into gaming than I was, picked up a PS5 Pro, and I’m a massive GTA fan.

The thing is, my TV doesn’t support HDMI 2.1, which wasn’t really a big deal on my radar in 2019 but has bugged me ever since the new consoles came out. On top of that I’ve become way more aware of what OLED actually brings to the table.

My plan for ages was to just hold off and buy a new TV alongside the next console generation, so I’d get something that actually takes full advantage of it rather than upgrading twice in a short window.

Then I watched the extended look at GTA 6 yesterday and now I’m second guessing everything. I’ve got a PS5 Pro sat there and I really want the best possible experience playing GTA 6 on it in November, but my current TV is holding that back.

Logically I know the smart move is probably to wait for the next gen, buy then, and keep that TV for 7ish years like usual. But the rumours of that generation being delayed have thrown a spanner in it, because now I’m looking at potentially sitting on this TV for another 2 to 3 years, all while knowing I’m not getting the best out of GTA 6 on day one.

So genuinely curious what people would do here. Upgrade now for GTA 6, or hold the line and wait?
