How 2 Mina?

I've played her for a few games, so I kind of get how she works, she threatens to burst anyone within a short range in front of her. As a result everyone tries to dogpile you first, which also means I can't just get up close easily and I need to be really good at positioning.

I basically only played Yamato, and her entire thing is being a Big Fat Target and brawling in teamfights, so Mina's playstyle feels like the opposite, and I feel like I end up playing way too far because I'm afraid I'll get blown up in 2 shots which means I never get procs which means I can never execute with my first skill.

I've watched some high level gameplay and they are always trying to fight in the sky or flank and go real deep and burst someone then get out like an assassin almost. I just can't seem to get the hang of this, I feel like I get blown up way too fast even with green items.

Do you guys have any tips on how to Mina properly?
