help me fix a screaming kenwood (KX-68W)

i got this deck for free and it’s been in rough shape.. just earlier i replaced the belts with some from a bulk pack, which helped with earlier fast forward and reverse issues, but now if i play a tape for too long it will let out a crazy high pitched irritating scream.. is this an issue with gears or a motor? does it need lube?? please help me my family is going to starve
