Volcano Disaster Movie

Hi, first post ever !

I'm searching a disaster movie from which i remember only the final scene. So, sorry for the spoilers.

It ends with an helicopter rescuing a family from the side of moutain. Lava is flowing around them but there's not enough room inside the aircraft and one guy decides to stay. We don't see him die clearly, he disappears in the heat temperature filter. I hope this will make you think of something. I know this scene marked me as a child.

My mother saw it also but does not remember the title. According to her it's not a really good film/produced so maybe it's a TV movie. Also I remember another scene but i have no clue if it's from the same movie. People have to climb a metal ladder that is heating and their hands are becoming to get stuck during the climb. There it is, i think i've put everything I know :)

PS : I'm french so I hope I didn't make weird grammar mistakes in the post :)
