Quit bitching and just play

As someone who played PlanetSide during its golden days and recently came back—and came back in a way that has me having an absolute blast again and rediscovering my love for this perfect game—I feel the need to make a post.

People who played this game are some of the biggest moaners who keep bitching nonstop about anything and everything related to PS2.

They all sound like Vietnam War veterans who somehow have actual achievements to their name. Like they’ve got a Purple Heart or a Medal of Honor sitting somewhere in their basement. It’s always some cliché like, “We did something that day, man,” or “We mattered.” As if any of that means something to the game, the developers, or—most importantly—new players.

Everyone is so ridiculously easy to offend because 1% of the gameplay they were used to back when they were somebody has changed, and suddenly they all quit the game and don’t want to play anymore.

Guys, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but the game is still here. You can still play it. It’s still free. And you can still have an absolute fucking blast playing it.

Put your ego and those imaginary achievements in some irrelevant niche game aside and just come back to have fun again.

The only thing we all need is to simply be here and be online, be decent to new players, and have fun. Just have fun...

Nothing more, nothing less.
