Political values, political compass and party-policy alignment survey (Everyone 18+)
I’ve built a political values + party alignment project and I’m looking for respondents across the political spectrum
I’ve been building an independent project called Beyond the Anecdote looking at how people’s political labels, values and actual policy preferences line up.
It includes a series of questionnaires covering things like:
- political compass / political outlook
- party and policy alignment (USA / UK / AUS)
- moral principles and values
- topic-specific surveys on issues such as Israel, Iran and other current political questions
Participants can use it to:
- see where they sit on the political compass
- see which Australian political parties’ policies most closely align with their own views
- compare their responses with other respondents
- explore areas where their views are consistent, nuanced or potentially in tension with each other
I’m deliberately trying to recruit people from different political communities, rather than ending up with a sample dominated by one side of politics.
The broader idea is to move beyond simple labels like left/right, progressive/conservative, and look more closely at what people actually believe and how those beliefs fit together.
I’d really appreciate people giving it a go:

It’s an independent project, not a representative poll, and I’m happy to answer questions about the scoring, question design or party-policy mappings.
