Doubt regarding pursuing Biotechnology in Masters

I’m currently enrolled in a B. Tech Environmental Engineering course. I initially wanted to biotech for my bachelors and pursue molecular biology or more in depth course to pursue genetic engineering for my PhD.
But I didn’t get my preferred course and my parents thought enrolling me in this course was a better choice than staying home for a year.
I wanted to know if there is any possibility of me getting back in track w my dream course by choosing biotech in masters. Any guidance or advice will be appreciated. Thank you.
