A new novel of the Russian civil war

Told from the perspective of a White Russian émigré in 1960s Bulgaria, the novel explores the retreat from Omsk and the trauma and loss faced and inflicted. As he writes in a notebook, memories he has long forced down with rakia begin to resurface.

It's called The Siberian Crane.
