I’ve struggled with disordered eating and purging for almost three years. It was an incredibly difficult cycle to live with, and I tried many different ways to change my relationship with food.

I started Reta on June 22, 2026 at 1 mg per week. I’ve gradually increased since then and I’m currently taking around 2–2.5 mg per week.

For me, the biggest change hasn’t just been appetite suppression or weight loss — it’s been the reduction in food noise. Before Reta, food could trigger a cycle of eating, guilt, and purging. Since starting Reta, I’ve been able to stop purging and actually enjoy food without experiencing that same overwhelming guilt afterward.

My appetite is definitely more controlled now, but I’m also very conscious of not replacing purging with excessive restriction. I’m trying to use this opportunity to learn healthier eating habits, eat balanced meals, get enough protein and nutrition, and rebuild my relationship with food.

My Reta journey so far:

• Started: June 22, 2026
• Starting dose: 1 mg/week
• Current dose: 2–2.5 mg/week
• Biggest change: Much less food noise and I’ve been able to stop purging
• Side effects: I’ve noticed that alcohol seems to affect me much more strongly than it used to. I get drunk much more easily now, even when I drink less.

I know Reta isn’t a treatment for an eating disorder, and I’m not suggesting that anyone use it for that purpose. This is simply my personal experience. I’m still learning and working on myself, but after struggling with purging for almost three years, being able to eat without feeling controlled by food or immediately feeling the need to purge has been a huge change for me.

I’d really like to hear from anyone who has experienced a similar change in their relationship with food while using Reta.

12 weeks process, Thank you Reta and all of you!
