I'm being kicked out of my house after being homeless for months
I am 24m and have had a pretty rough time in recent years.
I am 6"3 and used to be a relatively fit, active, sporty person. I played water polo, cricket, rugby, athletics, you name it.
I subsequently had a health issue that resulted in a bunch of surgeries which stopped me from playing sport, seeing friends etc and just resulted in me isolating. I developed a severe gambling addiction.
My father was an alcoholic and died last year in a pool of his own blood. I did not take it well.
I lost around $200k in a year and a half and went from having 100k in shares/stocks and being set up for a house deposit to being close to $10k in debt and homeless, living in my car.
My dad's dead and I have no contact with my mother. I got very close to doing something stupid.
I finally found a room to rent with 3 other people, who are significantly older than me. A couple owns the house, plus one other guy. I've been here about 3 months and finally was feeling really settled and comfortable.
Today I got the news that the sister of my "landlord" is very unwell and needs to move in. They have told me I have two weeks to leave.
It hit me like a truck and I felt sick. I am trying to stay positive and have got onto things straight away. I've already been in contact with several potential options for rentals.
I just feel like I repeatedly keep being kicked down. I have nothing to live for, but am trying to change that.
