Do you think NES games are better for children?

[Question]

I remembered how a lot of 8-bit games, particularly in the Atari era, often encouraged kids to use their imaginations to fill in the blanks when the onscreen graphics couldn't show them everything. And then you have games like Zelda that encourage physical skills by drawing out maps, writing down clues, and doing genuine problem solving in the real world, often while interacting with a parent.

Do you think, for these reasons, old games like this are overall more valuable to the growing psyche of young children? Obviously plenty of modern games can teach skills and encourage the imagination too, like Minecraft, but if I were to expose my son to retro games instead of games like it or Roblox, would that be bad? Would it alienate him from his friends?
