Before promotion you don't get paid?

I don't know how to post pictures, sorry.

But I'm playing as a lawyer (currently junior partner) and I've been saving up for a good house for a while now. I've always almost reached 200 000, but then suddenly I lose roughly 60 000 (12x my monthly outflow). No message, I bought nothing. I've only noticed, that this lines up with the times I've gotten promoted. Two times, so 120 000 gone.

I guess the game counts that as losing my previous job at the start of the "year" and starting a higher position (because this happens when I lose a job). However, obviously, I work for the same employer, so I should still get paid? I shouldn't just have 0 income for the year because of the promotion.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Is there a way to fix it? Thanks so much!
