Disses: Worth having or not? (Discussion welcomed)

I am debating removing this aspect from the subreddit and instituting extremely strict guardrails to this situation as it seems all this has done the last 2 months is make engagement to this subreddit the worst it's been in years. I'm discussing it first because I want to see if my read is actually accurate or if I'm overreacting.

Personally I wouldn't want to see them go, but it feels like the right course of action to me. What do you all think?
