found love on dating app but i have strict parents

I was recently on a dating app (fb dating to be more specific) and found someone who is an exact match for me.. we’ve texted, ft, and met up so we both know we’re not lying about age or who we are. we both really like each other and eventually i’d like for my parents to know about him and meet him.

my parents are very old-fashioned and don’t believe in online dating. he doesn’t live too far but also not nearby, about an hour and a half. my mom freaks out when i drive farther than 15 mins and my dad is a bit less strict but he generally wants me to avoid far away places. i know im going to have to be honest with them someday about how we met and the distance but i feel like for now its best to lie just to not upset them.

im just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation as me and what they did about it? i’m not underage, im 19
