About writing in the Sixth History universe

Good evening,

I've been wanting to write historical fiction in the Sixth History universe, but I'm intimidated by how much I would need to know about the world and lore before I write. I know in theory I can write whatever I want (Against Worldbuilding was an encouraging read), but it will bother me if I don't do enough research.

So I would like to ask you: what's the bare minimum amount of lore you'd come to expect from Sixth History unofficial content?
