does fluconazole make it worse before it gets better?

I had been noticing a very very strong smell, it’s not fishy or anything but i’m pretty sure it was a yeast infection. I occasionally got the discharge that came with it but it’s only ever so often. I haven’t noticed any itching or irritation, just that. I’m like pretty sure it was because i was using the antibacterial dove soap down there for like a year and a half…i’m sorry i didn’t know it was bad. I went to the doctor and she just asked me if it itched and if there was any irritation, i didn’t get to really explain what was going on. Anywho, she prescribed me fluconazole. It was two pills, and i took to second one a week later which was today. Over the past few days, i’ve noticed a significant increase in discharge and the smell has not gotten ANY better. I did just take the second pill like a few minutes ago so i’m not sure if it needed the second pill to start working. Is this normal??
