First EEG was nothing like what I expected

Newcomer

So, I had a major car accident about 4 months ago and got hit hard on both sides of my head (air bag, and a loose 40oz owala) and which caused some significant concussive trauma. About six weeks later I started having what I’ve taken to calling “seizure-like episodes”. I have not been officially diagnosed with anything as of yet so I’m sorry if I’m in the wrong place but I’ve read through a lot of y’all’s stories and it’s really helped me.

I learned really quickly that saying “I think I had a seizure” makes my doctors very weird and a bit aggressive with their denials so I changed to saying a seizure-like episode. Anyway, I actually had one during vestibular therapy two weeks ago and suddenly they are actually trying to get my neurologist to take me seriously. So they scheduled my first EEG for yesterday evening.

In these episodes I don’t lose consciousness, but I do lose all control over my body- it starts with a cold, far away feeling in my head like I’m going to pass out, then I lose the ability to find words and muscle spasms start in my right arm and leg then move to my back and finally everything tenses up, then rapidly tenses and releases. It usually lasts about 45 seconds, during which I am fighting for air. Afterwards it takes me about ten minutes to be able to start talking normally again, and for my vision to fully come back, and it usually takes 3-5 hours and sleep to feel more normal again.

I went into the EEG with absolutely no info provided from the staff, so I went off of advice found here searching through EEG posts- sleep deprivation, no stimulants etc just in case. They put the cap and a couple of extra electrodes on me then had me sit still and stare at a blank wall for 45 minutes. They even told me to stop thinking. I get the results on Monday but I guess I’m not sure what that’s supposed to do.

Have any of you had similar experiences? What can I do next?

TL:DR car accident caused seizure-like episodes that my neurologist did an eeg for in which I stared at a wall for 45 minutes with no additional information provided.
