Monolith

Striving for immunity, 
I've constructed a fortress of resources 
on the favorable side of probability.

Where there's disaster, there's opportunity
at the expense of the unfortunate. 
Thriving in chaos only gets me so far...
I am just a man, I have limitations. 

Witness success followed by lamentation;
my highest highs then my lowest lows. 
I've reached the end of my ability. 
Ages of wandering now add up to nothing. 
My world crumbles.
I need substance.  

Don't go along with my ignorance. 
May harshness humble.
I can't continue alone. 

I need compassion. 
Teach me a new fashion. 
No more complacency, 
the end of dormancy.
Full intent to advance. 

I call your name… rescue me. 
I admire who you are. 
My hero, with you I shall overcome. 

Some pray for doomsday but not us. 
We're not giving up. 
Where there's a will, there's a way.
