relationships make no sense?!

i just told Anika i wanna be friends (level 20) and now it says we’re hooking up. i never pick flirty options with her bc i’m straight and trying to live thru my character lol i have 35 levels with Malcolm and hes lived with me for 38 days straight! why is be only flirty??
