How to fix?
Heard a pop last night followed by a chemically, but almost garlic like smell. Something about it made it clear something was burning. Unplugged everything, looked around, discovered my printer (Neptune 3 plus) was the issue. This was during a heavy thunderstorm, and stupidly I left this plugged in without a surge protector. I unscrewed the section where both the power switch and cord are located. I believe a surge fried one of the wires as it is blackened/yellowed. It also created these interesting white crystals that shot out when I first unplugged the printer. Anyway, that wire’s the culprit, it’s the only burned part of the printer and the only source of the smell.
How do I go about fixing this? Assume I know nothing about tech in general. I have no idea how to replace this wire or where to get a new one from, or if there’s another issue this caused that I just can’t see.
Probably don’t have to say this but no my printer won’t turn on anymore, so even if I was that desperate that I’d risk an electrical fire, I don’t have a choice but to fix it.
Thanks in advance
