Hey everyone. I run a small project called **Gym Leader Customs**, where I focus on building themed crossover collectible card sets rather than one-off custom cards. Each set is built around a specific theme, with characters paired intentionally based on personality, story, powers, or visual identity.

I work with artists to bring the artwork to life, then I physically produce the cards myself. I’m currently trying to improve the production side, especially:

\- selective holo
\- cleaner texture alignment
\- better separation between art, foil, white ink, and texture layers
\- raised texture that feels premium without muddying the card text

I started with a basic printer setup, upgraded from there, and recently picked up a UV printer. Now I’m trying to better understand how people are getting clean isolated holo areas and texture layers on homemade/custom cards.

Im currently trying to make heads or tails of the Eufymake printer. I’ve tried every combination of file type, white mask layer, cardstock, and settings variations I could think of, but I keep ending up with either dull colors, full holo (no selective white), or a texture layer that looks awful.

I included a few pictures of an older Tommy’s Tyranitar test card that I used for practice, along with the settings I tried and the results I got. The artwork shown in those test images is being retired, and new commissioned artwork is currently being developed for these crossover cards.

I also included some images of a WIP Jurassic Park crossover card that I tried to texture with very poor results.

You guys clearly make some amazing customs here. Any advice, workflow tips, or mistakes to avoid would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!
