How to chat a girl who doesn't know me on chat?

I know her from my office building but I resigned so i have no chance to see her anymore. I want to add her on socmed then message her. But i think that's not gonna do anything because chat lang and walang way tumatak sa isip niya compared sa personal. what do i say?
