Jia’s Overall Impact on Dara

I’m curious to hear everyone opinions on Jia’s overall impact on Dara. She is one of my favorite characters in fantasy rn because she is so complex.

I don’t think Kuni would’ve ascended to the heights he did without her support early in life, and I believe there is a piece of her that wants to eliminate the specific evils that women and children face in war. Plus she has shown that she’s willing to sacrifice herself for her people.

On the other hand, it’s clear her trauma and trust issues allow her to justify some of the most despicable actions in the books.
