If someone was to randomly find one of the crowns like the cyan one, if they put it on would they become the new God of whatever that crown represents?

I was thinking about this because I'm not getting the woolHaven dlc until tomorrow but all the crown statues I have none of them have an x where the eye is, which obviously signifies death like that one crown on the top of the head of that bird guy that's still alive whose name I don't know off the top of my head, so would this crowns including the one for winter still be usable and be able to have new wearers if found?
