Is it selfish to criticize others for being selfish?

I was thinking this the other day and just couldn't resolve it. There seems to be no moral high ground when criticizing others for being selfish.

I'm thinking it has to do with the agent making this criticism is doing so because he wants to do so, and it seems to me selfishness is so broad that merely wanting something can be seen as selfish.

Wanting, by itself isn't really a selfish action, but once you have verbalized the want into a criticism, you're kind of projecting that want onto others now, which can be construed as selfishness.
