What to do with new puppy??

Hi everyone!

In a month we are going to the shelter and most likely getting a puppy. I have two boys (8&5). I'm waiting until after summer and giving me time to slowly buy stuff we need for house and dog.

My question is, what are some things I should expect and do first days/weeks with a puppy? I plan on taking a week off of work the first week (also lines up with kid Fall break).

I know every dog is different, but want to prepare for a general game plan to best set us and dog up for success.

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated. ❤️ 🐕
