How a Stark Tech AI could remember Peter Parker (using genuine and established MCU logic)
Hello everyone,
This is just a Theory of a very specific scenario I recently thought of which I can’t stop thinking about.
Recently after watching *Brand New Day*, I’ve been breaking down the exact logistics of Doctor Strange’s memory-wiping spell towards Peter Parker. I believe I have found an almost completely airtight loophole which uses strict data analysis and utilizes already established rules in the MCU to back my theory up. No random unexplained mad shit
- Tony Stark may have created a backup of his mind:
I explored a scenario in which Tony Stark, much like in the comics, backed up his memories into an AI (where he continues to mentor Riri Williams/Iron Heart). If Tony had done this in the MCU, which we can only assume he did knowing that guy, it opens up an entirely new plot i’ve thought about constantly
After Endgame they likely used this AI for a short while and then it's highly likely that shortly after being created due to the emotional distress it would cause Pepper or Morgan. The AI would be turned off, leaving its mind completely inactive, and its physical hard drive stored away in a secure vault where absolutely zero wifi or network allows it to inhabit. Meaning the brain of Tony’s AI is no longer active or connected.
- Savage Hulks Memory of Peter
This brings us to the Hulk, and there are spoilers for *Brand New Day* here.
We know that the inhibitor completely shuts off the Hulk's brain from Banners’ as they are two separate beings who the same body. This means, much like the Tony Stark AI scenario, the Hulk's brain was completely inactive during the time of the spell in *No Way Home*.
During the scene in *Brand New Day* where Peter is fighting the Hulk, we find out that since the Hulk wasn't actively processing anything, his mind was completely "switched off" And we can only assume that the spell doesn’t affect inactive minds while trying to erase Peter. We see this in action during their fight when Savage Hulk seemingly remembers who Peter is, which is due to this exact mental inactivity loophole.
- Applying this to the Stark Backup:
If a mind is inactive, the spell will not affect that person or object. Applying this same logic to the scenario where Tony’s AI model is locked away in an air-gapped vault, when the AI is activated again, it will completely remember who Peter is.
Magic requires an active concept or a live thinking mind to target; Much like how you cannot edit a book once it’s closed. When the drive is turned off, the memories are just static physical patterns on a silicon chip. The second you flip the power switch post-spell, it acts exactly like the Hulk waking up: a pristine time capsule waking up in a rewritten present.
This essentially means that Tony’s AI could have an extensive chat with Peter, and Tony wouldn’t even know that everybody can’t remember who Peter is.
- Clearing up the Final Loopholes - File merging
Although there will be no files of Peter on the main Stark networks, this specific AI will still have its original local files on him. If you treat these memory files like the ones you have on a regular computer, they will accidentally integrate Peter back into the Stark systems.
In data management, a network only triggers a "Replace File" or override command if a file with the *exact same name* already exists in the directory. Because Strange’s spell left a total digital vacuum—completely erasing every data packet labeled "Peter Parker"—there is no conflicting file on the network to force a deletion or corruption on the AI drive. It will see Peter as an entirely brand-new entry to the Stark systems, meaning his biometric access can smoothly merge back in.
Furthermore, this proves the spell wasn't a permanent, active firewall constantly surveying the universe. If it were a continuous background program, it would have wiped the Savage Hulk’s brain the exact second Bruce Banner took off the inhibitor. Because the Hulk safely kept his memories after waking up post-spell, it proves the magic was a one-time reality-rewrite wave.
- Other established blind spots in the MCU
This "offline" rule actually matches other details Marvel has dropped about how memory and magic work:
The Kamar-Taj boundary: We know places like Kamar-Taj or the Sanctum Sanctorum use ancient defensive wards designed to block external reality-warping spells. Any sorcerer meditating inside those protected, sealed vaults at the exact second the spell was cast would have been entirely shielded from the wave, leaving them unaffected.
The Muscle Memory hook: We see a similar biological loophole with Ned and Peter's intricate handshake. Magic targets conscious, episodic memory (names and faces), but it struggles with autonomic, procedural muscle memory. Even when the brain forgets, the physical body retains the habit, proving the spell leaves deep physical blind spots behind.
Why this would be a great fit
Tony being an AI wouldn’t necessarily be a complete resurrection as it would only mean he is a hologram. It would just be a static, digital representation/ghost, meaning his death in *Endgame* would still be powerful and it’s not just a cheap way of reviving one of their most beloved characters. This theory is merely a logical way for Peter to reclaim his legal identity in the Stark systems using his own engineering wits to find the vault.
I’m not sure this theory has any actual plot use other than to allow for peter to access stark tech but it’s a fun little idea I had to share! 🙌🙌
