Master's in Materials Science - Low GPA?
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to apply for the Materials Science master's program at TU Eindhoven next year. I'm currently a senior Physics student at YTU.
Unfortunately, my GPA is around 2.80, which is causing me a lot of anxiety. I've heard that these universities generally have a strict 3.0 GPA cutoff, so I'm preparing myself for the worst.
However, my laboratory and research background is quite strong. I led a government-funded undergraduate research project focusing on nanomaterials and sensors. I also have hands-on device fabrication experience with solar energy technologies and thin films at a reputable research center. I'm wondering if this kind of practical experience can make up for the GPA gap.
How much do the admission committees at TU Eindhoven value practical lab and project experience when compensating for a lower GPA? Has anyone here been accepted to these schools with a similar profile?
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
