Girl I’m pursuing thinks our female friend likes me, but I genuinely see her as just a friend.

I’m a guy and I want an unbiased opinion on this situation from my perspective.

There’s a girl I’ve been getting closer to, and we’ve started doing one-on-one runs together, usually on Wednesdays. It’s kind of become our thing. The whole friend group doesn’t necessarily know, but there is one friend who knows we run together, and people who follow us on Strava may have noticed. Me and the girl I’m talking to both haven’t been in a relationship. But we confessed some feelings to each other last month and talked about trying to date.

There’s another girl in our friend group who I consider just a friend. Before the girl I’m now pursuing even liked me, this other girl put her head on my shoulder at a group camp. I didn’t really think much of it because she also spends a lot of time with other guys.

Recently, I gave this friend a lift to the station. During the drive, she asked where I was going to drop the girl I’m pursuing off. Then she said, “I’m free on Wednesdays, I can come to your Wednesday runs.”

Nobody invited her, and neither I nor the girl I normally run with responded - we basically pretended we didn’t hear it.

Then a few days later, the friend brought it up again in the group chat and said:

“Can I self-invite myself to ur Wednesday runs? I have FOMO 🥺”

The girl I normally run with replied:

“Idm, he is the route planner.”
And
“It’s just that I run really slow and stop often.”

I didn’t react to the friends messages onto the group and privately dm’d her after talking to my crush and we both agreed that we preferred them to stay one-on-one and didn’t really want anyone else joining. However, we thought that if the other girl wanted to come just this one time, it would be okay, so we weren’t completely against it. She ended up not being able to come that Wednesday because she was working.

Then today after something happened , I spoke to my crush about some stuff and she ended up telling me she had a bad feeling about the girl/situation and thought the other girl might like me. I didn’t really see it that way because I genuinely think of the other girl as just a friend. We ended up having a bit of a fight about it because she felt like I wasn’t recognising what she was seeing, while I felt like she was reading too much into normal friendship behaviour.

I also have basically no dating experience, and I genuinely see the other girl as just a friend.

From my perspective as the guy, how would you realistically interpret this whole situation? Basically, if you were the guy, what would you actually think about the friend’s behaviour because I think she’s just a friend and views me as a friend, the girl you’re pursuing’s reaction, and the fact that this caused a small fight between you two? I want an honest advice
