First Time - Help

Questions

Hey guys.

On Sunday night (August 23rd) I was at a heavy metal concert and was unfortunately kicked in the front of the head by a crowd surfer wearing cowboy boots.

Given what you guys know about concussions, I was hoping to get some opinions on severity/if I even have one, since the two doctors I spoke to weren't super helpful.

On impact: dazed, shocked, saw stars for a second there. Immediate nausea I rallied and still managed to enjoy the show. I couldn't tell if the nausea was from the fact that I was absolutely dehydrated, has some drinks earlier in the night, or from the initial anxiety of "oh I just got booted in the cranium".

After the show: disoriented, a little wobbly. Could very well be due to the fact that metal show are disorienting in general.

Went and got assessed by a triage nurse, she didnt seem to overly concerned was at the er for 3 hours, folks that came in later were being seen before me and I had a flight in the morning so I left without being assessed.

Went to sleep.

Felt some nausea the next day but attributed this to possibly being anxious travelling back home with mum (who's never traveled, I've had to do all the navigating and such).

After I got home I went to a walk in. Was told it sounded like a concussion. Was given a few days off work and was told to rest. Felt awesome these two days.

I go back to work, and this is where the trouble really started.

I work in a laboratory. This means reading tiny labels, bright LED overhead lights, and data entry screens. I thought I was okay, and was okay for the first bit of the day. Lights were bothering me, so I wore sunglasses. Fairly nauseous all day. By the end of the day, my eyeballs felt like they ran a marathon, and this turned into a headache in my forehead area. Immediately went to bed after eating slept for the whole night.

Today i try going to work again, same thing, nauseous all day long. Lights bothering me.

I see another walk in doctor. Now im written off work next week. I have a wedding to go to tomorrow (I can't bail). I was just told to stay home and rest and wasnt given much guidance or information outside of that.

So my questions are:

- Based on my timeline, does it sound like I even have a legitimate concussion? I am a medically anxious person by nature, so its hard for me to tell if my symptoms are psychosomatic or what.

- give your best pep talk/advice for a medically anxious and paranoid person navigating this for the first time

- success stories of recovery
