What is up with the slop AI games I see on Youtube adverts?

The pattern is: down and out character is humiliated by someone with a higher score, gets assigned a lowly position/dwelling/etc from which they build up and dominate the person that bullied them. I have clicked through to see who is publishing them, but for some reason, I'm thinking China, because it has the feel of those crap FB stories that come across my feed along the same lines where the main character is humliated, then finally has the last laugh.
