Yesterday on my birthday I broke up with a man who I thought I would be getting engaged to soon (we were together almost 3 years).

Things started to fall apart when I accidentally saw a text he sent to a girl who has never been supportive of our relationship that he was going to break up with me after my birthday. I confronted him and said instead of going around telling other people about this why don't you just break up with me (hes a coward).

He proceeds to say he doesn't actually know if he wants out or if hes just unhappy with all of his life and is spiraling, but for me the trust was broken at that point. Because how do you go around saying stuff like that to other people and then do all this nice stuff for me without even feeling a little remorse? He also admits to texting this girl more than once over the past month, someone who I said I was not comfortable with him being in contact with because it's clear she does not like us together.

Despite all of this, he says he still wants to try to be together and he wants to try and fix his avoidant tendencies and get himself together because since april he has just been destroying his life in one way or another.

However at this point the trust is broken and over the next couple weeks leading up to my birthday yesterday I was weighing all my options.

Things that helped seal the deal for me? He didnt plan anything for my birthday until the night before, thank god I had plans with my girl friends that night.

So yesterday on my birthday, before I go to dinner I see him and we break up. He claims he wants a chance to get his life together so we can maybe try again, which is fine cause it's not like I wanted to break up? I realized that the person he is right now cannot love me the way I need to be loved.

So it's amicable, we're friendly, and hes saying he still has a lot of love for me and that he hopes we find our way back to each other.

After what I saw today, absolutely the hell not.

This morning I get on Instagram, and we were always active with each other on there so naturally my recommended accounts to follow are people he follows. Why do I see that not even 24 hours after we break up, hes back to following the prostitutes he would be involved with physically and talk to when he was on deployment in the Philippines???? When we got together I asked him to remove them from his life entirely and he did that no questions asked. But good to know he was waiting for the day he could get involved with them again. Old habits die hard I guess, I'm a spiteful person so I actually do hope he continues to destroy his life lmao

I am so disgusted and quite frankly icked out by this. Men always find new ways to be disappointing and its really not even surprising anymore im just exhausted.

But shout out to my girl friends who took me to dinner and made me feel so special, I am so lucky to have them.

Dinner is a margherita pizza from an italian place I've been dying to try and finally got to visit!
