Osmo 360 dual-fisheye → LichtFeld on vast.ai, no local GPU — 10M cap OOM'd, 5M finished
Ran Path C on a ~15 min Osmo 360 clip: extract dual fisheye (imgF/imgR) on a Mac, then COLMAP + LichtFeld Studio on a rented RTX 5090-class box. No local NVIDIA.
Public sample name: Tokyo shrine.
Live splat (this one is the denser Path L result, 3852 views; Path C default was 1285):

Recorded Path C numbers (2026-07-20):
- extract ~44 min, image/ ~13 GB
- upload ~10.5 min
- do not apt-install COLMAP (CPU-only). CUDA source build. LOOP_DETECTION=0 or the matcher aborts on a missing vocab tree
- SfM + undistort ~83 min → 1285 images
- LichtFeld first build can eat ~1.5 h on a fresh instance
- train: mcmc, SH 2, max-cap 5e6, resize 2, max-width 1600
- 30k ~7 min, 500k ~61 min, cloud ~4.5–5 h, about $2 at ~$0.45/h
- max-cap 10M OOM'd around iter 23900 on this 5090 32GB / 1600 / SH2 / 1285-image stack. 5M finished. Destroy the instance or the $2 becomes $20.
Happy to answer the COLMAP / LichtFeld bits.
