An Apology Towards The LGBTQ

A long while ago now I came in here when I was at the start of my Christian beliefs near the beginning of this year. I was very hurtful and judgemental towards the gay community and for that I would like to apologise.

Also I’m definitely not here to argue so don’t bother.
I am here to apologise for my wrongs and share my story of how it got this bad. But also how Jesus helped me find a better way out of this cycle of unnecessary hatred.

I was still in a lot of anger at the time, false beliefs I had been taught since a young age, and just blind spiritually an only willing to accept what I thought was right not Gods will at the time.

After that Jesus kept giving me this verse and I thought about, how would I have felt if I was in the people’s shoes I was judging wrongly.

Matthew 7:3-5

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”

There isn’t an excuse for acting like you’re better than anyone else in this life, we are all human we all bleed the same and return to the dust. I just don’t want to spend the rest of my life spreading the same toxicity I grew up listening to.

About a month ago I went to go visit my family about 3 hours from where I live.

Told my Dad straight up “We don’t get to judge the gays and say they’re evil, because who are we to judge? How can we say they will never find redemption even while they’re gay That’s not fair on them they are still humans just like us”

Safe to say I got kicked out a few days later with no way to get home in the freezing cold with a flu. But to me it was worth it because I finally stood up for what is right. Not taking a bribe against a brother or sister just because they love someone differently to me.

Thanks for reading and again I apologise for any hurt I have caused anyone in the LGBTQ community forgive me. God bless you all thanks for reading. ✝️
