Anyone here been on a GLP before?

:gemma: General Post

(I’m a man diagnosed both with BPD and ADHD if that matters).

I take a GLP (non prescribed) to stay lean year round. I’ve been on it twice and started again recently. I noticed benefits regarding some of the bpd issues I struggled with. Some things I’ve noticed;

~ emotional intensity is significantly reduced. I don’t feel everything heightened all at once.

~ the chronic empty feeling is also significantly reduced.

~ fear of abandonment is also gone (but I’m not in a relationship so I don’t know how it’d be in that circumstance).

~ able to cut off (respectfully) a girl I was getting close with after disliking certain things about her and how she would make me feel.

~ overall have a healthier mindset and ability to discern toxic emotions / thoughts and switch to rational, positive and healthy thinking much easier.

- better able to see the shades of grey that life, the world, people can be as opposed to the ‘black or white’

- I no longer have a need, what so ever, for emotional safety

There’s some more that’s not exactly coming to my mind right now but I’ll include it when/if it does.

By no means am I saying it is a cure or a ‘fix’. I’m only sharing my experiencing how it’s helped me. I still have to get enough sleep, I still have to workout/ exercise 4-5 a week and eat right etc.

With that being said, I do feel a little ‘dead inside’ or numb overall. I don’t know if it’s anhedonia (common side effect of GLP’s). It’s not a painful numb though. Besides, I’d rather feel little dull/numb than to feel that BPD empty feeling. The new dull/ numb feeling is more ‘hollow/ghost -like’ whereas the BPD empty pain I always had felt more like a nothingness which painfully needed to be filled. If that makes any sense?

Curious if any of you have taken a GLP and noticed positive effects?
