Socialising and having friends isn't for the weak

I mean this in the same way you'd say going to the gym 6 days a week isn't for the weak. Constantly being around people, making conversation, reading social cues and putting yourself out there takes a lot of energy. Not everyone can or even wants to do that every day.

I know the argument that humans are social creatures, and I understand that. But I believe people are different. Not everyone values social interaction to the same degree, and some people genuinely care about it a lot less than others.

Even at work, it depends heavily on the job. Obviously some jobs require more communication than others, but I think people who don't socialise much are often frowned upon even when they're doing their actual job perfectly fine.

Having friends might be paradise for some people while being dreadful for others. Some people genuinely love being surrounded by others, while others are perfectly happy having a lot of time to themselves.

I don't think either side is weak. Socialising takes effort, and being comfortable with solitude takes its own kind of strength. People just have different limits and different things they actually care about.
