Rake bloodhunt and...?

So, I was trying to recapture spirit of the old bleed spear blood mage builds with rathpith and lightning spear for clear. I really loved the feel of rake, retreat,...blood hunt for bossing. Wondering what ascendancies and clear skills you guys would lean on to make something similar in feel, if not function. The only similar things i've seen recently have relied heavily on spear field, which i'm not a huge fan of.
