Which hotel? (Shortlist included)

Accommodation

I’m going to Rome for a tattoo next month. The tattoo is on a Saturday and will take up a good chunk of the day, so I’m planning to arrive on Thursday so I can do some sightseeing Thursday and Friday, before flying back out Sunday early morning. First time in Italy. Interested in architecture and archaeology, not so much the paintings or the fountain. Not super picky about food, but looking forward to some bolognese and carbonara haha Also, I don’t drink/go to bars, so don’t need to be close to any nightlife.

Shortlist:

  1. Best Western Ars Hotel (closest to the tattoo shop, but farthest from city center) $289 total. 7.7 rating.
  2. iH Hotels Roma Z3 (cheapest) $268 total. 7.7 rating.
  3. hotel Caraval (most expensive) $299 total. 8.2 rating.
  4. La Genziana (best rated) $298 total. 9.2 rating.

Now I did see some people post on here that some booking.com listings in Rome are fake/scams- so it may be best for me to book directly on a hotels website? Or if anyone has alternative recommendations. Or just opinions on any of these four would be appreciated! Trying to stay under 300, and prefer a private room (not a hostel).

Thanks!
