Does DoorDash premium delivery actually work?

I’ve had orders that I’ve paid for premium delivery that say it would come 10 minutes faster and it showed up 20 early, and I’ve had it take the same amount of time as regular orders estimations on other orders. I’ve never put in a regular order without premium delivery and it came that early though.
If you are second in line for a delivery for a dasher between you and another person do you get bumped in front? That’s the only thing I can think of but hoping actual dashers have seen this and can confirm, or at least offer their opinions on the matter from their experience.
