BMW 550e or Mercedes e53 amg

I wonder if anyone has compared these 2 cars and what they think about them. I test drove the Mercedes and wasn’t very impressed. Good power and it handled ok but the interior turned me off…it seemed really cheap. I haven’t had a chance to see or drive the BMW…dealership is a long way from where I live. Both cars are priced about the same and their specs are similar. I have owned Mercedes and BMW large sedans before and liked both of them. So, I’d appreciate anyone’s advice or comments comparing the two cars.
