Three of us are facing homelessness on August 31 — trying to raise $3,000 for temporary housing
I honestly don't know how else to ask for help, so I'm just going to be straightforward.
My family is facing an immediate housing crisis. The temporary place we're staying in ends on August 31, and we currently don't have somewhere else lined up.
There are three of us: myself(37, trans), my 36-year-old brother, and my father, who is on Social Security. I'm a software/AI engineer, but I've been out of work and desperately trying to get back into a stable job. I'm currently waiting on a job opportunity that I'm praying comes through, because it could completely change our situation.
I'm also disabled with M.S. and fighting cancer(HCC).
I've been going through cancer treatment, and I have an MRI scheduled for September 16 that should tell us whether the treatments have worked. So while I'm trying to figure out housing, I'm also waiting to find out what happens with my health.
My brother broke down last night and was crying that I'm his older brother and that I'm supposed to take care of him. That really hit me. We're all scared right now.
I'm not looking for someone to permanently support us. I'm trying to buy us some time. I have a big interview Tuesday that'll change everything if i get it.
I'm hoping to raise around $3,000, which would give us enough of a bridge for temporary hotel stays, food, transportation, and potentially a deposit while I continue working on getting employment and permanent housing.
I had a GoFundMe from earlier this year when I was raising money during my cancer treatment. I'm linking it here rather than creating another fundraiser from scratch:

I completely understand that people are cautious about donation requests on Reddit. I'm happy to provide whatever reasonable verification/proof is permitted by the subreddit rules, including documentation related to the situation.
If you can't donate, I understand. If you have information about emergency housing, inexpensive extended-stay hotels, short-term rentals, housing resources, or employment for a senior AI/software engineer, that could be just as valuable.
I'm embarrassed to be writing this, but I'm trying to do everything I can to keep my family safe while we get through this.
Thank you for reading.
