Praising a software for once. Gigabyte GPU fan control
I just recently bought a used Gigabyte 4080 and got it yesterday and went to put it in, and after installing, I found a piece of plastic of unknown origin. Come to find out, it was a fan blade to the right fan of the GPU. This is my first time with full size PCs and GPUs coming from a laptop, so I hopped onto PCMR and read a few old post of people not recommending running broken fan GPUs due to vibrations that can lead to further issues. I installed it and downloaded the drivers and tested it for a few minutes anyways and downloaded the Gigabyte Software to change the RGB. Upon messing with the control software, I found the right fan can be individually controlled, and by setting all the fan curve graphs points to 0 RPM, I can basically disable to fan. So, thanks to this feature, I can what I can assume is a workaround for now, run the card with 0 vibrations but still let the other two fans run at full RPM.
